LOWER SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A senior leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam was critically injured when his car was hit by a bomb blast in the Wana area of Lower South Waziristan here on Friday.

According to the police, an improvised explosive device exploded near the car of  JUI-F leader Maulana Sultan, critically injuring him, and he was shifted to a nearby hospital.
The hospital sources confirmed to Pakhtun Digital that the condition of the JUI-F leader was critical and underwent surgeries.
Maulana Sultan is the principal of Jamia Ashrafia and was returning home from the seminary when he was targeted in Wana Bazaar.
The incident took place in the central area of ​​Wana Bazaar, and panic spread in the area after the explosion.
A heavy contingent of police immediately reached the spot, and an investigation has been launched to find out the reasons for the explosion.

Governor KP asks govt to implement PHC order regarding PSC members’ appointments

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Faisal Karim Kundi has asked the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to implement the order of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) regarding appointments of Public Service Commission members.

It was said in a statement issued by the KP governor’s office here on Friday. It asserted that the governor’s secretariat has submitted a letter to the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and asked the government to ensure sure implementation of the order of the PHC to appoint PSC members.

It also mentioned that the governor urged in the letter to the government of KP to submit the recommendations for appointments of PSC members to the office of the governor in the light of the PHC verdict.

“According to the law and constitution, Governor KP is entitled to approve the recommendations of PSC members’ appointments,” The letter stated.
