ISLAMABAD: Toll taxes on motorways and highways across Pakistan have increased by 100% during the last fiscal year, according to official sources.
Revenue collection in FY 2024–25 climbed to over Rs64 million, compared to Rs32 million in FY 2023–24. Data shows toll receipts from highways increased from Rs17 million to more than Rs34 million, while motorway collections rose from Rs14 million to over Rs29 million.
Provincial data highlights sharp upward trends: Punjab recorded an 84% rise in toll revenue, Sindh saw a 117% jump, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa registered a 92% increase, and Balochistan reported an 81% surge.
Exemptions remain in place for government vehicles, ambulances, police units, and fire brigades.
