The American news agency AP has exposed Indian propaganda regarding the recent incident in Tirah. According to AP, which supports the position of Pakistani authorities, at least 24 people were killed in an explosion at a compound in Pakistan’s northwest region on Monday. The victims included both militants and civilians.

The explosion occurred in the Tirah Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, destroying several nearby houses. Local police officer Zafar Khan informed AP that among the deceased were at least 10 civilians, including women and children, as well as 14 militants. He stated that local Pakistani Taliban commanders Aman Gul and Masood Khan had established shelters in the compound, which served as a factory for making roadside bombs. Zafar Khan also mentioned that the militants were using civilians as human shields and had recently stored weapons in mosques in other districts.

Pakistan’s security forces are currently conducting operations against the Pakistani Taliban in Khyber, Bajaur, and other areas of the northwestern regions.

Meanwhile, Indian media has contributed to the situation by falsely reporting that Khawarij terrorists attacked the Tirah Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with a drone. They have been sharing pictures on social media that are unrelated to any incident in the Tirah Valley. One particularly viral image, claimed to be from the recent incident, was actually posted on Facebook in May 2025, several months before these claims.
