The TikTok administration has closed the TikTok account of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Shahbaz Gill over alleged anti-state content.

According to the administration, Gill made inflammatory statements against state institutions and used inappropriate language on his account, which contributed to public unrest and tension.

The TikTok administration stated that Shahbaz Gill’s comments were directed against the institutions of Pakistan and represented an attempt to undermine state peace and security. The videos shared from his account were deemed violations of TikTok’s community guidelines, leading to the blocking of his account.

In recent years, the narrative of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) against state institutions has intensified. Party leadership and certain members have been voicing continuous and aggressive attacks against their opponents and state institutions on social media. These statements often contain accusations, misinformation, and attempts to defame institutions, which provoke strong public reactions.

Anti-state content has proliferated on social media by various PTI leaders and supporters, resulting in the banning of thousands of accounts. These accounts have spread baseless allegations, alarming statements, and negative propaganda against state institutions and the government.
