HANGU: Three police personnel, including SP Operation Asad Zuber, were martyred in a second follow-up blast in district Hangu area on Friday.
Sources said that SP operation was going to cordon off the area of the first blast when his car was targeted with an improvised explosive device. One officer was injured in the explosions and was immediately shifted to the hospital. According to the police, the terrorists targeted the Ghalmina check post with an explosion. Upon receiving information about the incident, SP Operations Asad Zubair left for the scene with a heavy police contingent.
On the way, a police vehicle was targeted by a bomb blast, as a result of which three personnel, including the SP, were martyred on the spot. Heavy police deployed in the area to arrest the suspected persons. The blast caused severe fear and panic in the area as terrorists used the first blast to target the police high-ups.
DSP Hangu Amjad Hussain confirmed that the target of the follow-up blast was SP operation.
