The British newspaper ‘The Telegraph’ in a recent report presented Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir as “international peacemaker of the recent ceasefire between the US and Iran.
The Telegraph calls FM Asim Munir as an influential and strong leader on the global stage and called him the “central architect” of the recent ceasefire between the US and Iran.
According to the report, US President Donald Trump likes Field Marshal Asim Munir very much and he is known as President Trump’s “favorite field marshal” in the White House.
President Trump praised his personality and called him a “great fighter”, “a very important figure” and an “extraordinary human being”.
The Telegraph has revealed that Field Marshal Asim Munir played the role of the most important negotiator in making the recent temporary ceasefire between the US and Iran possible.
The report quotes a government source as saying that President Trump fully trusts Field Marshal Asim Munir’s insight and opinion on the Middle East and especially Iran.
The report states that Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with US Vice President JD Vance and Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, brokered the deal through weeks of backdoor diplomacy. Not only that, he also played a key role in getting China involved and convincing Iran to sign the deal.
This diplomatic role of Field Marshal Asim Munir is being widely appreciated in Pakistan and is being considered a symbol of Pakistan’s growing stature and prestige on the global stage.
