After a major terrorist attack in the provincial capital, security agencies have achieved a significant success, where a clear photo of a terrorist has emerged before the attack on the FC headquarters.
A suicide attack was carried out on the Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar today, as a result of which three FC personnel were martyred and 5 civilians were injured. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are being provided medical assistance. After the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a large-scale search operation. Forensic teams are collecting evidence, while intelligence agencies have also started a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
According to security officials, the movements of the attackers are being monitored with the help of CCTV cameras installed at different locations in the city. A clear image of a terrorist has emerged in the footage obtained from these cameras, based on which further investigation is underway. Investigation teams are examining which possible elements may have been involved in bringing or facilitating the attackers into the city. According to sources, the scope of the investigation has been further expanded to identify possible facilitators and coordinators of the terrorists.
Security agencies have appealed to citizens to immediately report any suspicious person or activity in the city to the relevant authorities so that any further untoward incident can be avoided.
