HANGU: A militant was killed in an operation carried out by the Police in Hangu against terrorists. Police also recovered a cache of weapons and explosives from his possession.
According to police sources, Thana Doaba police got a tip about the militants with arms who had established a roadblock illegally near the Dilan Pul area on Dilan Road. District Police Officer (DPO) Hangu Khan Zeb Mohmand ordered the officers to act immediately, so the team led by DSP Tall Mujahid Khan, SHO Doaba Imranuddin Khan and Al-Buraq Commandos reached the scene with their vehicles and equipment.
Afterward, the police were met with bullets by the criminals from the spot. In the fight, one of the terrorists was killed, while the rest of them were able to escape, leaving behind an injured accomplice.
The law enforcement officers also discovered an AK-47 rifle, along with some hand grenades and explosive materials from the deceased. The body of the dead terrorist was taken from the area to a hospital for medical examination and an official report was prepared by Thana Doaba police.

District Police Officer (DPO) Hangu Khan Zeb Mohmand accompanied by a short statement, acknowledged the courage of the police personnel and said that police in Hangu are always like a wall of iron against the forces of evil and vowed to continue their struggle till they achieve a situation where no terrorists will be left in the area and make a getaway from the law.
Three police personnel, including SP operation martyrs
Earlier on 24 October, three police personnel, including SP Operation Asad Zuber, were martyred in a second follow-up blast in the district Hangu.
Sources said that SP operation was going to cordon off the area of the first blast when his car was targeted with an improvised explosive device. One officer was injured in the explosions and was immediately shifted to the hospital. According to the police, the terrorists targeted the Ghalmina check post with an explosion. Upon receiving information about the incident, SP Operations Asad Zubair left for the scene with a heavy police contingent.
On the way, a police vehicle was targeted by a bomb blast, as a result of which three personnel, including the SP, were martyred on the spot. Heavy police were deployed in the area to arrest the suspected persons. The blast caused severe fear and panic in the area as terrorists used the first blast to target the police high-ups.
DSP Hangu Amjad Hussain confirmed that the target of the follow-up blast was SP operation.
