KABUL: The Taliban administration in Afghanistan has outlawed female patients seeing male dentists.
According to Al Arabiya News, Taliban authorities in Kandahar province recently visited dental clinics and compelled female patients to leave the grounds. The clinics were also instructed that male dentists should not treat female patients.
This new order follows a Taliban nationwide ban on “romantic poetry” and unauthorized poetry recitals.
Women in Afghanistan have been subjected to harsh limitations since the Taliban took control in August 2021 following the withdrawal of American forces, including bans on secondary education and employment. Women have also been forbidden from cooperating with other international aid groups and the United Nations.
