Federal Minister Talal Chaudhry said that no major or new military operation has been launched in Tirah Valley and reports of “operation” are mere rumours and political propaganda.

He explained that the security forces are only carrying out anti-terrorist operations (IBOs) on specific information, which is a routine part of the entire country. Talal Chaudhry accused the PTI of creating a false narrative against the security agencies. He questioned that if the provincial government is against the operation, why did they themselves request billions of rupees in funds for the victims?

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the PTI leadership claim that thousands of families have been displaced due to the operation in the area and are forced to live under the open sky in the bitter cold. Local tribes and elders of Tirah had protested in recent days that they had received messages to evacuate the area, which the federation has now issued a formal denial.

The government said that operations against terrorists will continue to maintain the writ of the state, but no action is being taken that would paralyze the lives of ordinary citizens. Talal Chaudhry added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is not only aware of this entire process but is also a part of it, so it is wrong to give it a political colour.
