ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry declared that after the ruling announced today no individual will evade responsibility, be it Chief Justice Saqib Nisar or Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.

Talking to Geo News, Talal Chaudhry highlighted that the military’s moves have established a precedent that justice must be served to all.

He‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ also mentioned that the judicial system was obligated to hasten the delivery of justice after the verdict. “May 9 incidents’ verdicts be issued when? Will they be given on the Day of Judgment?” Chaudhry asked, referring to the unrest and violence that took place on May 9 2023.

On being asked if General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Army Chief was among this group and should be held responsible for, Chaudhry answered that the institutions have shown through the events of today that they will not put aside ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌anyone.

“Regardless of the strength of someone’s status anyone involved in unlawful conduct must be held responsible. The institution once regarded as untouchable has made a statement today,” he remarked, emphasizing that accountability applies to all without exception.

Chaudhry also raised the matter of the party linked to this plot, asking when they would take responsibility. He pointed out that the statement released following the verdict was significant and implied that the implicated political parties ought to practice self-accountability to it being imposed on them by others. “Who, among the leaders or parties gained from this? They should consider whether they wish for others to be excused,” he remarked.

He further stated that this coalition of groups and unlawful actions had damaged Pakistan and that all parties involved must face the same level of accountability.

When asked if the founder of PTI would undergo a trial in a court Chaudhry was straightforward. “Considering the circumstances, it is evident that the PTI founder and Faiz Hameed were involved in the same network. PTIs political strategy cantered around Faiz Hameed. If Hameed had not been influential, PTI would not have established a government,” he asserted. Chaudhry clarified that even while PTI was in opposition, their association with Hameed was apparent.

“The architect behind all of this has now been caught, and those who benefited from it should also come under scrutiny,” he said, adding that this was essentially a “club” that had been working together to benefit each other.
