UK imposes sugar tax on milkshakes and drinks to combat obesity
LONDON: The United Kingdom has revealed initiatives to address increasing obesity levels implementing a sugar levy, on milkshakes, pre-packaged milk drinks and various other sugary drinks. The regulation indicates that sugar content will vary from 5 grams to 4.5 grams, per 100 milliliters, in the permitted grades of non-alcoholic drinks.
