In a crucial match of the Super-08 stage of the T20 World Cup, South Africa proved their superiority by defeating West Indies by nine wickets.

In this match played in Ahmedabad, South Africa achieved the target of 177 runs set by West Indies in just the 17th over for the loss of just one wicket. Captain Aiden Markram showed brilliant batting and played an unbeaten innings of 82 runs off 46 balls, which included 7 fours and 4 charming sixes.Opener Quinton de Kock provided an aggressive start by scoring 47 runs off 24 balls, while Real Ricciardo also remained not out with 45 runs.

Earlier, West Indies batted first and scored 176 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated overs. For West Indies, Romario Shepherd scored a brilliant half-century at number nine, but his hard work was in vain. Jason Holder scored 49 and Brandon King scored 21 runs to increase the team’s score.

For South Africa, Langi-in-Gedi bowled deadly and took 3 wickets while Kagiso Rabada and Corbin Bosh took two wickets each. Aiden Markram was declared the man of the match for his brilliant innings.
