COLOMBO: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has made an announcement regarding free entry for spectators to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match between Pakistan and Namibia at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground in Colombo, on Wednesday (today).

SLC has announced that patrons can enter through gates five and seven, which will open at 1:00 pm local time before the match starts at 3:00 pm. This match will mark the fifth World Cup match to take place at SSC Grounds and it serves as the final tournament match at that venue. The first match of the tournament and the first ever under lights international match have already been hosted at SSC Grounds, which has established itself as a historic venue.

The match will be postponed if the weather continues to rain because there is a 60% chance of rain occurring. The area experiences thunderstorms combined with a temperature of 29°C which feels like 30°C and northern winds that blow at 19 km/h with gusts reaching 37 km/h.

The match is particularly crucial for Pakistan, who need a win to qualify for the Super Eights by finishing second in Group A with six points. The match will be washed out because of rain which would result in Pakistan advancing through points distribution because their total points would reach five which is one point higher than what the United States has.

Meanwhile, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup reached its historic milestone when Pakistan used six spin bowlers during their match against India and became the first team to do so in one inning.

Pakistan selected six spin bowlers for their bowling lineup which included Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha and Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz and Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq.

Saim Ayub led the team by achieving three bowling victories. Usman Tariq and Shaheen Afridi and Salman Ali Agha each took one wicket while one batter was run out.

The T20 World Cup became the first competition to allow Pakistan to use six spin bowlers during a single match because they selected this strategy for their current tournament battle.
