SWAT: The Swat Deputy Commissioner has issued a threat alert for all educational institutions across the district, directing administrations to tighten security arrangements in view of the prevailing situation.
According to an official letter issued by the deputy commissioner, Swat, on Tuesday, universities, colleges and schools, particularly girls’ schools, have been placed on high alert following reports of incidents targeting educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. The letter instructed administrations to adopt additional precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The deputy commissioner directed institutions to enhance surveillance of both internal and external routes and to keep a close watch on entry and exit points. Administrations were also instructed to protect male and female students and ensure that communication systems remain active at all times.
The alert urged immediate reporting of any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities. Copies of the threat alert have been forwarded to police and intelligence agencies to ensure coordinated and effective security arrangements.
Officials said communication among institutions, law enforcement agencies and intelligence departments has been intensified to strengthen preparedness and prevent any untoward incident.
The district administration stressed that the measures were preventive in nature and appealed to educational institutions to strictly comply with the instructions in the interest of public safety.
