The results of the annual elections of the Supreme Court Bar Association have started coming in from across the country, according to which Haroon-ul-Rashid of the Independent Group led by Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar and Ahsan Bhawan is leading, while Taufiq Asif of the Professional Hamid Khan Group is the runner-up.
Lahore Results
In the Supreme Court Lahore Registry, the presidential candidate supported by the Independent Group, Haroon-ul-Rashid, was successful. Haroon-ul-Rashid secured 629 votes while his opponent, the presidential candidate of the Professional Group, Taufiq Asif, secured 431 votes. Six votes of the presidential candidates were cancelled. Presidential candidate Haroon-ul-Rashid secured a lead of 198 votes from the Supreme Court Lahore Registry. The Independent Group continued its success in the presidency of the Supreme Court Bar, and congratulated and wished the lawyer leader of the Independent Group, Ahsan Bhawan, on the success of the Independent Group. 1066 votes were cast in the Supreme Court Lahore Registry, 1460 lawyers were declared eligible to cast their votes from Lahore.
Karachi Results
According to the unofficial results, Haroon Rasheed of the Independent Group is in first place with 195 votes, his opponent Taufiq Asif of the Professional Group is in second place with 185 votes.
Multan Results
256 votes out of 315 have been cast in Multan, the presidential candidate of the Independent Group, Haroon Rasheed, won with 135 votes, his opponent, Taufiq Asif of the Professional Hamid Khan Group, came in second place with 115 votes, 6 votes were rejected in the Supreme Court elections in Multan Bar.
Sukkur Results
In Sukkur, presidential candidate Haroon Rashid won by getting 54 votes, while his opponent, professional Hamid Khan Group presidential candidate Rafiq Asif, came in second with 13 votes.
Swat Results
In Swat, Haroon Rashid of the Independent Group was declared successful by getting 27 votes, while his opponent, Tawfiq Asif of the Hamid Khan Group, got 23 votes.
DI Khan Results
In Dera Ismail Khan, Haroon Rashid of the Independent Group was ahead with 23 votes, while Tawfiq Asif of the Hamid Khan Group came in second with 17 votes.
Hyderabad Results
In Hyderabad, presidential candidate Haroon Rashid won by getting 64 votes, while his opponent, Tawfiq Asif, got 33 votes.
Bahawalpur Results
In Bahawalpur, Haroon Rashid of the Independent Group won by getting 89 votes, while his opponent, Tawfiq Asif of the Professional Group, got 37 votes.
These are preliminary and unofficial results. Results are yet to come from some cities, including Islamabad and Quetta.
