The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has provided preliminary information on the Shawwal moon, indicating there may be 30 fasts in the country this year.
According to the SPARCO statement, the birth of the Shawwal moon will be on March 19 at 6:23 am, while the age of the moon at sunset on the same day will be approximately 12 hours and 41 minutes.
SPARCO says the chances of seeing the Shawwal moon on the evening of March 19 are low, so Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be on March 21.
The statement clarified that the final sighting of the Shawwal moon and the date of Eid-ul-Fitr will be officially announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
People in Pakistan are having 21 fast, while some countries are observing 22nd.
