ISLAMABAD: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a 48-hour suspension of gas supply to industrial consumers and CNG stations as part of extraordinary measures to manage increased demand during the winter season.

In a statement, the company said the decision was taken to ensure improved gas pressure for domestic and commercial consumers amid a surge in demand caused by colder weather.

Under the plan, gas supply to all industrial consumers, including captive power plants, as well as all CNG stations will remain suspended for 48 hours. The suspension will begin at 8am on Saturday, January 31, and continue until 8am on Monday, February 2.

SSGC advised domestic consumers facing low gas pressure during this period to register complaints by calling its 24-hour helpline at 1199, adding that its teams would address complaints on a priority basis.

The company also reminded consumers that under routine gas load management, supply to domestic and commercial users is suspended daily from 10pm to 5am.
