PESHAWAR: During the Chief Minister Sohail Afridi address to Young Parliament in Peshawar, students asked tough questions regarding corruption and terrorism in the province.
The students asked the Chief Minister what the PTI achievement in the last 13 years of the PTI rule, and explain your performance against corruption and lawlessness. The Chief Minister replied that this question is planted and the students who seem belong to rival political parties were sent by someone to defame the Chief Minister.
Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced a major financial package for the youth and announced to increase the interest-free loan scheme from Rs 3 billion to Rs 5 billion. Addressing a convention organized by the Young Leaders Parliament in Peshawar, he severely criticized the policies and economic measures of the federal government.
The Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 2 million for the Young Parliament. Sohail Afridi said that the federation currently owes the province Rs 4758 billion, while stories of alleged corruption of Rs 5300 billion are common in the federation.
He took the stand that the administrative merger of tribal districts took place in 2018, but the financial merger is a violation of the Constitution. Responding to those who are making political noise over the Rs 4 billion allocated for Tirah victims, he said that the real clamor should be on the corruption of billions.
The Chief Minister, targeting the federal leadership, said that a “fake prime minister” cannot represent a self-reliant nation. Commenting on the situation in Punjab, he likened it to “civil martial law” and said that political freedom has been taken away there.
“Honor and dishonor are in the hands of Allah; if there is strong faith, no force can harm it. It is better to become a living nation and raise your voice for your rights than to hold funerals,” Sohail said. Sohail Afridi clarified that ending terrorism is not possible without a comprehensive policy. He urged the youth to raise their voice for the rights of the province at every forum and resist any decision that goes against the interests of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
