SWABI: The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has launched a province-wide special enforcement drive to improve property tax recovery and achieve the assigned revenue targets.
As part of the campaign, strict action is being taken against major property tax defaulters in Peshawar and Mardan.
Under the jurisdiction of the Excise and Taxation Office (ETO-II), operations against property tax defaulters are in full swing. The drive is being carried out under the supervision of Tauseef Khan, Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO-II), Peshawar.
Similarly, special recovery teams have been constituted under the leadership of Zarr Ali Khan, Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer, to recover outstanding dues from major defaulters.
Despite the issuance of repeated notices, several property owners failed to clear their liabilities. Consequently, legal action was initiated, and multiple defaulting property tax units were sealed during today’s operation in Peshawar.
A similar special campaign is also underway in District Mardan against major property tax defaulters. Under the supervision of Muhammad Khalid, Excise and Taxation Officer, Mardan, a comprehensive drive has been launched to improve property tax recovery and achieve revenue targets in the district.
For this purpose, special teams and sealing squads have been constituted. In this connection, the Mardan sealing squad, led by Sher Muhammad Khan, Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer, conducted legal action and sealed several defaulting property units (properties).
The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has urged all property tax defaulters to ensure timely payment of their outstanding dues in order to avoid legal action and inconvenience.
