PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assembly speaker, Babar Saleem Swati, has summoned the director general of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) tomorrow at 12 PM over violating an agreement with the government.
During the assembly session on Monday, the KP assembly speaker, Babaar Saleem Swati summoned DG NAB to personally appear before him in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly on Tuesday.
The action was taken after the speech of MPA Amjad Ali, who is currently facing an inquiry against him conducted by the NAB in alleged charges of illegal assets.
“We appreciated the work of NAB in the Kohistan financial scandal in which they dealt with that case incredulously.” KP assembly speaker expressed.
The speaker, however, said that the NAB violated the agreement with the government in MPA Amjad Ali case, and they did not obtain permission from the assembly.
Mr Babar Saleem Swati said that they had an agreement with the NAB, under which permission must be obtained from the Speaker before taking action or arresting a member of the assembly, but in the case of Dr Amjad Ali, NAB has violated this agreement.
Speaker on the occasion summoned the NAB director general to personally appear before him in the assembly.
