SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Residents of South Waziristan expressed grave concern over the growing ratio of Hepatitis-B and Hepatitis C due to the unhygienic nature of water in the Tanai area of South Waziristan and demanded Deputy Commissioner to send samples for laboratory test to identify the exact nature of the water.
Talking to Pakhtun Digital, Salih Mohammad, a resident of the Tanai area district in South Waziristan, said that there are a large number of patients who are facing diseases like Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C due to some impurities in the water of the area. He said that the people of the area are using water from three alternative sources, which include tube wells, mountain water and rivers.
He said that as the population increases, water pollution increases day by day. He said that most of the people in the area are facing Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C due to water-borne diseases. He said that residents could not know how to test their water to check out he reason for these diseases, and they demanded that the government send their laboratory team to take samples from the water for detailed analysis.
Another resident of the area, Muhammad Hussain, said that this is a reality that water-borne diseases are increasing with each passing day, and the people are speculating that there are impurities in the water, which cause diseases in the area. He said that sometimes Hepatitis C causes liver cancer, which is a life-threatening disease, and most people are currently suffering from this disease in the area.
