Unknown individuals planted an improvised explosive device (IED) in the sensitive Barwand area of Sarwekai District of South Waziristan, which was activated by militants or enemy elements, resulting in the targeting of the vehicle of Kadam Khan, head of the Peace Committee.
According to police and security sources, the blast was carried out by an improvised explosive device (IED) that apparently exploded near or under Kadam Khan’s vehicle. As a result of the blast, Kadam Khan was injured and his vehicle was severely damaged, while security forces and police personnel immediately reached the scene.
The injured was immediately shifted to a local hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Police sources said that the condition of the injured is not stated to be critical, however, further information about his condition is awaited.
