KARACHI: The Sindh government has expressed profound sorrow and regret over the loss of lives during a clash that took place when protesters entered the US Consulate. In the incident, six people were killed, and several others were injured after protesters breached the outer perimeter of the consulate.

In response, the Sindh government has formed a high-level Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to conduct an impartial review of all aspects of the incident. This team will investigate the circumstances surrounding the clash, the reasons behind it, and identify those responsible.

The official statement emphasized the government’s respect for citizens’ constitutional and democratic right to protest. However, it is vital to maintain a peaceful environment, which is a shared responsibility of all. Vandalism, violence, or taking the law into one’s own hands is unacceptable.

Citizens are encouraged to express their feelings in a peaceful and legal manner. The JIT will examine all facts to clarify how the incident unfolded, the motives behind it, and who is accountable. The government reiterated that maintaining control of the situation and upholding the law is a collective duty, while all citizens retain the right to conduct peaceful protests.
