Actress Fatima Effendi raised the question in her post, “These people who are getting crores of rupees from e-challans, can’t they even install manhole covers on the road with this money?”
TV and film actress Mahira Khan said, “I saw a video in which a mother is crying for her child, who is responsible for this accident? Unimaginable indifference.”
Actress Sajal Ali said in heartbreaking words about the tragedy, “It is extremely sad and heartbreaking. Whoever is responsible for this should be ashamed. Who is responsible for Karachi? Who is responsible for this failed system?” She added that nothing is done in the security arrangements of a city that bears the burden of millions of people.
Other personalities have also severely criticized the government and the Karachi administration. They said that the presence of open manholes in the city and their non-repair is clear proof of government negligence and administrative failure. Many personalities have demanded that immediate steps be taken to improve the plight of Karachi, so that such accidents can be avoided in the future.
