DOHA: Pop icon Shakira has announced the postponement of her highly anticipated concert in Qatar due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. The concert, originally scheduled for April 1 at the 974 Stadium, had already sold out tickets, making it one of the most anticipated events of the year in the region.

Shakira’s management team declared that the concert will be postponed because current area conditions create excessive safety hazards that threaten both the performer and her audience. The statement explained that “we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the performance for a later date” because of the current circumstances.

The concert organizers told ticket holders that they will reveal new concert dates soon. The postponement has created major disappointment among local residents because they consider this concert an important event for their country which aims to become an international center of artistic expression.

Shakira’s world tour concert at 974 Stadium which was built for the FIFA World Cup 2022 expected to attract a huge audience because of its association with the Grammy award-winning artist.

Shakira known for her worldwide popular songs Hips Don’t Lie and Waka Waka has not yet announced the new date for her rescheduled concert. Fans of Shakira wish that live shows would return to the area as soon as conditions improve after the current situation ends.
