PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan, has strongly reacted to the statement of Federal Minister Khawaja Asif, stating that the continued rhetoric against Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi, is a result of the panic and frustration of fake federal ministers. He said that politicizing a serious national issue like terrorism by the federal government is highly regrettable and condemnable.
Shafi Jan said that terrorism is a national issue and that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s policy against terrorism has been clear, unequivocal, and before the entire nation since day one. In his statement, he said that Khawaja Asif’s politics over terrorism and the funerals of martyrs is an old habit of the corrupt clique imposed on the federation.
He added that the ministers of the fake government imposed at the centre are using a sensitive issue like terrorism to revive their dead politics, but they will fail as they always have, because the nation has given its real mandate to PTI founder Imran Khan.
He further stated that the provincial government is taking serious and comprehensive measures for the eradication of terrorism and the establishment of peace, utilizing all available resources for this purpose. Chief Minister Sohail Afridi convened a comprehensive peace jirga comprising all political and religious parties and stakeholders, where 15 points were unanimously approved and signed by the opposition leader and other political leadership.
Advising Khawaja Asif, Shafi Jan said that he should first study the points approved by the peace jirga before issuing statements. The Special Assistant clarified that solid and coordinated measures are being taken in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure good governance and curb corruption. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the provincial government is leading in governance, while according to Transparency International’s latest report, the Punjab government ranks at the top in corruption.
Criticizing Khawaja Asif, Shafi Jan said that Khawaja Asif’s discomfort over Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s visit to Sindh is clear evidence of his undemocratic and narrow-minded attitude. He said that the fake minister elected on Form-47 should stop leveling allegations and present his Form-45 before the nation. How can a Form-47-elected fake minister convince the public that he is their true representative?
Shafi Jan said that the entire nation knows that Khawaja Asif has already lost the election to Rehana Dar and is a defeated individual. Such a person, he added, should present his performance before the nation instead of indulging in politics of allegations.
