PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan announced that the provincial government has deployed its entire resources to help people who became stranded during the heavy snowfall that affected Tirah valley.
The operation currently works to rescue people through its use of rescue teams who have come from different districts along with district officials and personnel from partnered agencies. The severe snowfall has created multiple blocked roads, which have made it impossible to reach certain areas while also limiting communication systems that support emergency operations.
Shafi Jan stated that residents face major difficulties because they need to leave their homes during the extreme winter weather. The provincial authorities have dedicated all of their existing resources to help those who need rescue and emergency assistance.
The advisor reported that district authorities have moved stranded individuals to safe areas and temporary shelters while they continue their rescue operations throughout the affected regions. Rescue operations persist in some areas despite closed routes and disrupted signals, which create limited contact with those in need of assistance.
The Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has assumed direct control over the rescue and relief efforts in Tirah, according to the report, which states that he ordered all responsible agencies to keep working until they have relocated every affected individual.
Shafi Jan stated that the provincial government will support its citizens during this challenging period while the government works to protect the safety and health of people who live in areas affected by the severe snowfall.
