PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Information, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shafi Jan, has said that the three-day visit to Lahore has been successfully completed and that the objectives of the visit were achieved beyond expectations.
Speaking to a private news channel, Shafi Jan stated that they were deliberately handled officially in Lahore and that attempts were made to intentionally disrupt the visit.
He alleged that party workers were prevented from meeting them, the Mazar-e-Iqbal was cleared of people, and the Food Street was closed during the visit. He further claimed that FIRs were registered against around 80 people, while nearly 1,100 individuals were arrested.
Shafi Jan said that under the pretext of security, their movement was repeatedly restricted. However, he added that despite these hurdles, they managed to break the “idols of fear” and successfully conveyed their message.
PML-N doesn’t know how to respect guest in their house, says Shafi Jan
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Information, Shafi Jan, said that those who called the Punjab Assembly an aunt’s house forgot the constitution, democracy, and respect for guests.
Describing the visit of the elected Chief Minister as a leap is the political panic of the Punjab Assembly Speaker, and a person holding a position like the Speaker should play the role of the Speaker instead of becoming a personal servant of the Sharif family.
Shafi Jan said that before talking about the fake cases of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, look at the history of the Sharif family. The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly’s May 9th outcry is a failed attempt to hide the political revenge of the PML-N.
He added that respect for the constitution is proven not only through speeches, but through actions, which the constitution allows, pushing the elected Chief Minister and members in the Punjab Assembly.
The Punjab government is hiding political fear in the name of security, and the assembly belongs to all parties. Why were PTI members stopped? Shafi Jan questioned.
Punjab Speaker has made the Punjab Assembly a sub-office of PML-N. Whether political parties have roots in the country or not, PML-N has roots only in power. He added that democracy is not strengthened by humiliating elected representatives, and the incident that took place in the Punjab Assembly is a clear example of PML-N’s political intolerance.
Uzma Bukhari has continuously made statements based on racial prejudice; the fake rulers of the Punjab government have gone crazy with political revenge, Shafi Jan remarked. “I invite the Punjab Assembly Speaker to come to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to understand morality,” Shafi Jan said.
