CALIFORNIA: Southern California is in a state of emergency as a result of heavy rains, which have also led to at least two deaths by flooding and accidents related to the weather.

According to U.S. media reports, the never-ending precipitation has turned the rain into a flood covering many living areas, where some parking lots were totally submerged.

In San Bernardino County, road access was cut off in some places because of mudslides and fallen trees, due to which several cars were left stranded. In some locations, the destruction was so high that the roads were literally gone because of the water.

Helicopters were used in rescue operations to save people who were stuck on rooftops, while hundreds of others were relocated to safety. In several counties, the governments have proclaimed emergencies over and over again.

More than 160,000 individuals were left without electricity on Christmas day due to the rain and flood, while the authorities advised the population to stay home because of the risk of more disasters.

According to the National Weather Service, Los Angeles and other impacted regions can expect an additional 8 inches of rain over the next four days, which will probably lead to an even more difficult situation.
