PESHAWAR: The joint action committee on Peshawar University facing a severe financial and administrative crisis demanded federal control.

Peshawar University is in the grip of a severe financial and administrative crisis. An important meeting of the Joint Action Committee of the University of Peshawar was held in which the deteriorating situation of the university was discussed in detail.

In the meeting, the Joint Action Committee demanded that Peshawar University be handed over to the federation as the provincial government has failed to run the University of Peshawar financially and administratively.

During the meeting, it was informed that the university is facing a severe financial crisis due to which employees and teachers are facing difficulties in paying salaries.

The Joint Action Committee warned that if funds are not released immediately, a strict protest plan including boycott of classes may be adopted.

In the meeting, the government was demanded to announce an immediate emergency package for the University of Peshawar so that academic activities are not affected.
