PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released an update on road closures and traffic disruptions caused by snowfall in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Heavy snowfall has affected several main and link roads, while restoration work is underway with machinery deployed in most areas.
In Buner district, traffic was affected on Shahi Dosar Road, Chagarzai–Kolai Road and Gadzi due to snowfall. No tourists or locals were reported stranded, and road clearance operations are ongoing.
In Shangla, snowfall affected the Swat–Bisham Road and Yakh Tangi Road. Authorities confirmed no loss of life or property, while machinery continues restoration work.
In Swat district, snowfall was reported on Kalam Road, Malam Jabba Road and Glacier to Mahodand Road. Kalam and Malam Jabba roads have been restored, while work continues on the Glacier–Mahodand Road. No tourists or residents were affected.
In Lower Chitral, several roads, including Lowari Tunnel North, Sheshi Koh, Madak Lisht, Drosh–Lisht, Ayon–Boni, Chitral–Garm Chashma, Garm Chashma–Gobor, Chitral–Boni and Boni Road were affected. Machinery has been deployed for clearance.
In Upper Chitral, multiple connecting roads were affected by snowfall. No tourists were reported stranded, and restoration work is underway.
In Lower Dir, Shahi Road and Kalpani Link Road were affected, with clearance operations in progress.
In Upper Dir, the Lowari Tunnel has been temporarily closed, while Kumrat Road remains affected. Machinery is active to restore traffic.
In Mansehra, Kaghan–Naran Road and Upper Batal Road were affected. One tourist was reported stranded, while restoration efforts continue.
In Abbottabad, snowfall affected the Nathiagali–Murree Road, Thandiani Road, GDA and CNW Town roads. Machinery is working to clear these routes.
In Battagram, Alai Bannah Road, Oghi–Kandao Road, Shimli Road, Tarand Road, Shirkol Top to Chitral (KKH) and Batal Tunnel were affected. Restoration work is ongoing.
In Kolai Palas, Sharakot Road, Kolai Road and Kheyli Yar Road were affected, with machinery actively engaged in clearance.
In Torghar, Teli Road remains closed due to snowfall. Clearance will begin once snowfall subsides.
In Swabi, Bir Gali Road was affected but has now been fully restored.
In the Khyber district, snowfall stranded the population and temporarily displaced persons on the Miraban–Tirah Valley Road. Relief and road clearance operations are underway.
In Mohmand district, no roads were affected, and the situation remains normal.
In Upper South Waziristan, Ladha Road was affected by snowfall, and restoration work is in progress.
In Bajaur, traffic on Barang Road was disrupted due to snowfall, with clearance operations underway.
In North Waziristan, the Razmak Road was affected at Duncan. One-way traffic has been restored, while full restoration continues.
In Kurram, several roads were affected by snowfall, and machinery is being used to restore connectivity.
In Upper Kohistan, the Karakoram Highway (KKH) has been closed at multiple points ahead of Dasu. Efforts to reopen the road are underway.
