KABAL: A powerful explosion has occurred at a Chinese restaurant in the Shahr-e-Naw area of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, resulting in several fatalities.
Local sources indicate that the blast was so intense that it was heard from a great distance. Eyewitnesses believe the explosion was likely a suicide attack targeting both Chinese and Afghan citizens.
Following the incident, Afghan security forces cordoned off the area and began rescue operations.
Spokespersons for the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior and Kabul Police have confirmed the explosion and acknowledged that there have been casualties, but they have not provided specific details regarding the number of deaths or injuries.
At this time, no official statement has been released by Taliban officials concerning the cause of the explosion or those responsible, and an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
