PESHAWAR: Security provided to former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur has reportedly been withdrawn on the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, further intensifying speculation about growing differences between the two leaders.
According to sources, all security personnel deployed for Gandapur were removed late last night following instructions from the chief minister. The development comes amid reports of strained relations between the current and former chief ministers.
Sources said that Gandapur had received security threats on multiple occasions in the past. A grenade attack was also reported at his residence previously, raising concerns about his safety.
No official statement has yet been issued by the provincial government regarding the withdrawal of security. However, political observers view the move as a significant development in the evolving political situation in the province.
