BANNU: Security Forces on Friday killed a militant and apprehended four others during an intelligence-based operation conducted in the Bannu district’s Mamash Khel area.
According to security sources, while acting on a tip-off, the Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Mamash Khel area, where they killed a militant and apprehended his four other accomplices. They recovered large-scale weapons, cash from their possession.
Pakistan has witnessed an uptick in terrorist incidents since the end of the ceasefire between the Pakistani authorities and the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in 2023. More than 800 people across the country have lost their lives in such attacks since then.
Security sources said a terrorist named Barkatullah was killed in an exchange of fire when he tried to escape.
A massive cache of weapons, cash, vehicle number plates, a car and identity documents were also seized during the operation.
