BAKA KHEL BANNU ( Salman Ali Khan): Security forces on Sunday thwarted a major terror plot in the Baka Khel area of Bannu district after recovering and defusing an improvised explosive device (IED), according to sources.
According to security sources, unknown militants had planted a highly dangerous IED along Circular Road in the Syed Baka khel area.
Acting on timely information, security personnel reached the site and successfully recovered the explosive device before it could be detonated.
Sources said the IED contained a large quantity of explosive material, indicating an attempt to cause significant damage and loss of life.
Following the operation, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a clearance operation to rule out the presence of any additional explosive devices or suspects.
No casualties were reported. Further investigation into the incident is under way.
