ISLAMABAD: According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on March 13 Afghan Taliban launched several rudimentary drones targeting Pakistani territory, which were successfully intercepted and foiled by the security forces.
According to ISPR the drones were successfully neutralized through “soft and hard kills” and did not reach their intended targets.
However, debris from the attacks caused injuries to two children in Quetta and a civilian each in Kohat and Rawalpindi.
In its statement, ISPR said the attacks were aimed at spreading fear among the public and highlighted the terrorist mindset of the Afghan Taliban.
On one hand, the Afghan Taliban project victimhood to garner global sympathy, while on the other, they actively target civilians through their terrorist proxies and drones.
The military emphasised that Pakistan’s people and Armed Forces are fully aware of the true nature and intentions of the Taliban, describing them as a terrorist militia-for-hire ruling Afghanistan.
ISPR reiterated that Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq will continue until the Taliban address Pakistan’s core concerns regarding terrorism originating from Afghan soil.
Pakistan’s Armed Forces stand steadfast in defending the people against terrorists and their facilitators and shall not flinch in the face of provocations like these drone attacks, the statement added.
The ISPR condemned the attacks and affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms.
we shall keep defending the people of Pakistan against terrorists and their facilitators and shall not flinch in the face of such provocations by the Afghan Taliban, ISPR.
