KURRAM: Pakistani security forces on Saturday foiled an infiltration attempt at Pakistan-Afghanistan border along the Kurram district.
On November 29, security officials detected suspicious movement of armed individuals attempting to cross into Pakistani territory near the border. In response, security forces swiftly targeted the infiltrators using both heavy and light weapons.
This decisive action forced the militants to retreat back towards Afghanistan.
Earlier, on November 25, the Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) stated in a conversation with senior journalists that Afghan forces often provide covering fire for terrorists and smugglers trying to enter Pakistan.
He explained that Afghan forces sometimes engage Pakistani border posts to divert attention, allowing terrorists and smugglers to cross the border more quickly.
Local sources have reported unusual activity along the Pak-Afghan border in the Kurram area over the past several days, leading to increased surveillance by Pakistani security and intelligence agencies.
Security officials have reiterated that any hostile actions from Afghan forces or militant groups along the border will be met with a firm and decisive response.
