It is worth mentioning that last week, Secret tunnels used by militants inside residential houses have been discovered in the Bajaur district. It was told by reliable sources that these tunnels were used for storing weapons and for providing safe havens to insurgents associated with the banned extremist outfit.

The militants conducted organized attacks on the state and civilians with residential areas providing cover for the attacks.

Large caches of different types of weapons had been recovered in security operations recently, while tunnels were uncovered and then shown to the general public as evidence.

Some elements, despite conclusive findings, tried to put responsibility on security forces for the massacres in innocent civilian areas, charges that officials say stem from either willful ignorance of the ground realities or outright malice.

The authorities have condemned in the strongest terms the practice of putting innocent civilians and their homes as human shields, calling it a cowardly and despicable act by militants.

Operations are still underway, and the government maintains that it is necessary to ensure peace and stability in the area.
