QUETTA: Pakistan security forces have recovered a cache of heavy weaponry from the Pak-Afghan border in Balochistan following an operation that destroyed two Afghan Taliban positions, official sources said on Tuesday.
The recovery occurred after security personnel targeted and dismantled Post-2 and Post-3 along the volatile border region. According to officials, the posts were abandoned by Afghan Taliban fighters during an intensified surveillance and engagement operation.

Military observers noted that the weapons were found during routine monitoring of cross-border movements. While the specific sector of the Balochistan border was not named for security reasons, the area has seen a recent uptick in friction regarding border fencing and post-construction.
The discovery of Soviet-era heavy weaponry underscores the persistent challenge of arms proliferation along the porous frontier. Pakistani authorities have frequently raised concerns regarding the use of Afghan soil and leftover military hardware by various groups to target security installations.
