Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan hinted that business activities in Pakistan are booming, and thousands of new companies were registered in the month of February.

According to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), 3,444 new companies were registered in the country in February 2026, after which the total number of companies registered in Pakistan increased to 287,049.

The data shows that 82 new companies involved foreign investment, in which Chinese individuals obtained directorship in 44 companies, while citizens of the US, UK, Germany, Canada, and other countries also participated in new companies. Foreign investment was mostly in mining, trading, and IT, e-commerce sectors.

According to the registration data by province, 1,696 companies were registered in Punjab, 656 in Islamabad, and 555 in Sindh. In sector-wise registration, the highest number of companies were registered in IT and e-commerce, which numbered 723, followed by 531 in trading, 434 in services, and 323 in real estate. In addition, companies in mining, textiles, education, health, sports goods, cables, and electric goods were also registered.

According to SECP, these figures reflect the increase in economic activities and business confidence in Pakistan, and are a sign of improvement in the country’s investment climate.
