SWABI: Security has been put on high alert in the area after a suspicious drone crash was reported in Pabini area of Swabi district.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Swabi, Waqas Rafique, a heavy contingent of police and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) were immediately dispatched to the scene as soon as the incident was reported.
DPO Waqas Rafique has confirmed that no loss of life or property has been reported so far in the incident of drone crash. As a precautionary measure, the police have cordoned off the entire area and no unrelated person has been allowed to go near the scene of the incident. Teams led by the DSP are examining the wreckage of the drone and its nature.
Police officials say that initially it is being determined what kind of drone was downed,Was it a commercial drone that was in general use? Or was it sent by a mischievous element for surveillance or sabotage? The bomb disposal squad is examining the technical aspects of the drone and the equipment in it to see if any explosives were installed in it.
It should be noted that in recent days, attempts have been made to target security forces through quadcopters and drones in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, due to which the police and sensitive agencies remain on high alert for such information. DPO Waqas Rafique has appealed to the citizens to immediately inform the police in case of any suspicious movement.

A suspicious drone was also seen flying in the suburbs of Abbottabad, causing panic in the area and putting security agencies on high alert.
According to eyewitnesses, a low-flying drone was seen in the suburbs of Abbottabad (Nawahi Gaon) and remained in the air for a long time. The local population immediately informed the police and district administration, after which security forces have launched a search operation in the relevant area. Security officials say that they are trying to find out the nature of the drone. It is being seen whether it was a commercial drone owned by a local citizen or whether it was related to an espionage attempt by some miscreant.
Since Abbottabad is a sensitive area and there are important military installations here, the police and law enforcement agencies have tightened the surveillance process.
