RAWALPINDI: H.E. General Fayyadh Bin Hameed Al Rowaili, Chief of General Staff (CGS), Saudi Armed Forces, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, with a particular focus on strengthening the longstanding and strategic military cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. They emphasised the importance of further enhancing defence collaboration, security cooperation, and counter-terrorism efforts, which continue to be pillars of the deep-rooted bilateral relationship.

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s cooperation in multiple fields with Saudi Armed Forces and reaffirmed his commitment to furthering the strong bonds of cooperation.

Upon arrival at GHQ, General Fayyadh Bin Hameed Al Rowaili laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and was presented a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with Tajik Defence Minister Colonel General Subirzoda Imam Ali Abdul Rahim at the General Headquarters.

According to the ISPR, the two leaders discussed in detail matters of mutual interest, the overall security situation in the region, and bilateral defence cooperation in the meeting.

In the meeting, the two leaders reiterated their commitment to further enhance bilateral ties in the areas of training, counter-terrorism, and military cooperation. According to the ISPR, the two sides stressed the need for joint efforts for lasting peace and stability in the region.

The Tajik Defence Minister praised the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Army and the role it has played in regional peace and stability. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also highlighted the importance of joint initiatives and partnership between the two countries in promoting security, prosperity, and stability in the region.
