RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has declared a major relief measure for visa holders which enables them to correct their visa status. The Ministry of Interior has decided to offer a grace period for those with expired visas, including visit Umrah transit and final exit visas.
The extension applies to visas that expired before February 25 2026 which the Ministry of Interior established as the final deadline for visa renewals on April 18 2026. The visa extension process allows applicants to pay the required fees for extension while they can exit before their deadline without facing penalties.
Visa holders who have confirmed tickets will be allowed to leave immediately which will ensure smooth travel. The Ministry of Interior also urged all expatriates to leave the country by April 18 to avoid penalties.
The decision provides essential relief to numerous expatriates and travellers who need to update their visa statuses in Saudi Arabia without incurring fines or facing complex issues.
UAE announces major visa relaxation, including for Pakistanis
Earlier, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has implemented new visa regulations that permit Pakistani residents and other international residents to return to the country after their visa expiration.
The new decision from the UAE government allows people whose residency visas have lapsed to enter the country without obtaining another visa.
The Federal Authority for Identity Citizenship Customs Port Security has officially approved the decision.
The spokesperson explained that the new directive aims to help residents who became stuck outside the country return to the UAE without any legal issues that would arise from their previous residency status.
