PESHAWAR: Barrister Saif, Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Information Department, has requested the federal government to allow the provincial government to take foreign trips, as it facilitates political leaders like Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to travel abroad.
While speaking to the media at Peshawar University, Barrister Saif criticized the federal government for hampering the KP government’s attempts to send a delegation to Afghanistan. He stated that the provincial government has written dozens of letters applying for permission to send a delegation but nothing has yet materialized.
He asked the federal government to include their representative in the delegation so that they would be able to clarify anything and make space for dialogue.
Barrister Saif also asked the Prime Minister to display his talent and demonstrate himself as the actual leader of the country. On the issue of peace negotiations, he emphasized that fair negotiations could only be conducted if Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is present at the negotiating table and the negotiations must have equal reactions.
Barrister Saif revealed that KP’s Chief Minister recently met with the founding leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), receiving a detailed briefing on the province’s security, cabinet performance, and other critical matters. The founder expressed confidence in the Chief Minister and instructed him to use financial and administrative powers effectively.
