ISLAMABAD: A total of 3,982 candidates have been shortlisted for the Graduate Engineer Trainee Program, which offers selected graduates a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000 during their training.
According to the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), the selection process for the second batch of the program has been completed to equip young engineers across the country with practical and industrial skills. From a pool of 5,300 online applications, 3,982 candidates were shortlisted after a thorough screening process.
A completely transparent digital draw was conducted to finalise the selection, resulting in the choice of 1,700 engineers for six months of professional training.
Out of the selected candidates, 300 seats were specifically reserved for graduates from Balochistan, all of which have been filled. The remaining 1,400 candidates were chosen from other provinces and federal territories.
Chairman of the PEC, Engineer Wasim Nazir, announced that each selected graduate will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000 during their training period.
He said that this program will play a crucial role in enhancing the industrial skills of young engineers. To facilitate this initiative, partnerships have been established with both public and private institutions across the country, aimed at fostering industrial development by promoting skilled manpower in Pakistan.
