BANNU (Salman Ali Khan): Two children were killed, and a woman was injured when the roof of a house collapsed near the Lede bridge on Merian Road in Bannu due to heavy rain.
According to Rescue 1122, disaster and medical teams promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving the report. The deceased children, identified as siblings Manwa and Sinan, were trapped under the rubble.
The injured woman was rescued, given first aid, and immediately transferred to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for further medical treatment.
The rescue operation faced significant challenges due to ongoing rain and bad weather; however, rescuers continued their efforts with the assistance of local residents.
Heavy rainfall has persisted in Bannu since last night, causing severe difficulties for residents in slums and rural areas, with many mud houses at risk of collapse.
In light of the current situation, the Bannu district administration has instructed Rescue 1122 and other relevant agencies to remain on alert to ensure an immediate response to any emergencies that may arise.
