BANNU: Residents of Bannu protested against the kidnapping of two employees of the Water and Sanitation Services Company Bannu(WSSB) and demanded their safe recovery.
The two employees of the WSSB Bannu were kidnapped from the Hana Merian area while they were busy with their routine duty. According to sources, WSSC employees were removing garbage in the area when unknown armed men kidnapped the driver, Daulat Khan, and Gul Riaz along with their tractor, while one employee fled the scene and saved his life. In the protest, WSSC employees demanded the immediate recovery of the kidnapped employee and urged the district administration to play a role in their safe recovery. On this occasion, the father of one of the kidnapped employees wept bitterly, pleading for the recovery of his son.
The law and order situation is badly affected in the area, as kidnappings for ransom and remote control blasts have caused a wave of fear and panic in the area. A large number of the local population in Bannu feel unsafe, and several families have shifted from the area to other safer places.
