RAWALPINDI: In response to the arrival of international delegations and heightened security concerns, the district administration has ordered the complete closure of all bazaars and markets in Rawalpindi for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
According to a statement issued by Malik Shahid Ghafoor Paracha, President of the Central Association of Traders for Raja Bazaar and Saddar, the decision follows formal directives from government and security officials, including SP Rawal Town and Assistant Commissioner City Ms Iman Zafar.
The trade association has appealed to all shopkeepers to strictly comply with these instructions in light of the current security environment to avoid legal action or administrative difficulties. The statement emphasised that these measures are necessary to ensure the safety and smooth movement of foreign guests in the neighbouring capital. Traders have been assured that they will be informed promptly should there be any changes to the current closure schedule.
