ISLAMABAD: During the One-Day matches and the Tri-Nation Cricket Series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Islamabad traffic police set traffic advisories and alternate routes, and cricket teams will be moving between Islamabad and the stadium.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, over 300 officers from the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) will be deployed throughout the event. The ITP has issued a revised traffic plan for the convenience of citizens, including alternative routes to prevent disruptions.
Key traffic guidelines for one-day matches are that if Faisal Avenue is closed, commuters are advised to use Srinagar Highway, Club Road, or Faizabad, or, alternatively, Park Road and Lehtarar Road. Those who use Ninth Avenue should utilize Sabzi Mandi Mor, Police Lines Chowk, or take Srinagar Highway from Rawalpindi via Golra Mor and Peshawar Mor. For travelers on Margalla Road heading towards Khanna, it is recommended to take Blue Area, Club Road, and Lehtarar Road as alternate routes.
Officers will be stationed on service roads to provide information and assist the public.
During peak hours, traffic flow on the Express Highway and Srinagar Highway may be affected due to increased movement. The Islamabad Traffic Police urges citizens to plan for extra travel time and to be patient during the event.
The police will actively update citizens regarding traffic conditions via social media platforms and FM 92.4.
Citizens are kindly requested to cooperate with traffic officers and show patience. In case of any emergencies, the public can contact Pukar 15 or the Traffic Helpline at 1915 for assistance.
